One Of Those Days

Today is/was/continues to be one of “those” days.

You know the ones.

The ones where you realize that you forgot about the cookie exchange you’re having at work the next day and you don’t have the energy to come home after working all day and be a Mom and bake cookies for other people. So you go to Target and buy 3 dozen of the Harvest Cookies and plan to package them up pretty for your co-workers.

The ones where you realize that you have so much to do around your house but by the time you make dinner and load the dishwasher, after first unloading it because you were too lazy to unload it when you last ran it, that you decided to vacuum. Then you bring the vacuum in the living room and vacuum only to finish by collapsing on to sofa and spend the next 10 minutes looking at the vacuum cleaner. You decide that you’re done vacuuming and so you get up to half-ass do the next thing and leave your vacuum sitting in the living room.

The ones where you decide you might as well write a blog post even though you know full well you’re too tired to edit it or even proof it or even re-read it and it will probably end up being the biggest piece of crap that you’ve done for awhile since you’ve tried really hard to do all of those things but you don’t care because at least you’ve written something…. anything.

The ones where you do a search on Twitter for something mundane like Cold and then watch how the search updates every few seconds with 20 or so new Tweets and it’s as entertaining as anything on network television.

The ones where you decide to White Elephant gift some of the crappier books you own and while going through boxes of book you end up making your upcoming 2009 classics/world literature reading challenge book piles larger and more unmanageable especially since you went to the bookstore this afternoon and added more books to those lists in your mind.

Yep….
I’m sure that you’ve had one of those days!

You figured out Twitter and didn’t tell me? Damn, girl. And I was going to invite you to a weekend at the Demonic wine cellar. :-)

Yup. I have those days/weeks/years. Believe me, it doesn’t get better, but the good thing is that it hardly ever gets much worse.

  3. {{{bibliomom}}} really, cookie exchange, who are we kidding? mooches…all of ‘em. If I don’t make a list tomorrow, tonight, even, I’ma forget something critical. I can feel it coming on.
